I was just reading an article that reported The City of Los Angeles spent 1.4 million dollars on MJ’s funeral — for those that don’t know, it was held in the Staples Center and 17,000 people attended.
City officials said Wednesday that the remaining amount covered traffic control, cleanup and other costs related to Tuesday’s public memorial service, which was attended by a total of more than 17,000 fans and watched by tens of millions of people around the world.
Matt Szabo, a spokesman for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, hailed the tally a success. He said it was “far less” than the initial estimate of $4 million.
Hey Mayor Antonio. You’re a dipshit. Spending my money on this shit is not a success, it’s a huge freakin’ failure. In fact, it’s pretty much criminal. I’m happy lots of people got to go to the funeral and I’m sad to see Michael go, but since when do cities pick up the bill for funerals? He’s a millionaire, that should be on the family’s estate. Not tax payers, you jamoke.
And they wonder why California is so critically broke.
