The one musical stat that I still cannot, to this day, possibly ever wrap my head around is this: Who is the musician with the most #1 singles ever?
Mariah Carey.
Not the Beatles, not the Stones, not even Bon Jovi. Mariah freakin Carey. I’m not even sure how she did it. Payola? BJs? I dunno. But she holds the record, and has hit #1 more than any artist in the world, ever. It kinda sucks.
But one tasty little fact I didn’t know was that Eminem and Mariah used to have a thing. Hot and heavy. There’s a ton of disses and references to her on Em’s new album Relapse.
And…I don’t think it ended well. After Mariah recently released a new single slamming him, “Obsessed”, with a stalker/Eminem lookalike getting run over by a bus in the music video, Mr. Mathers came back with this: “The Warning.” It’s a completely unnecessary but hysterical underground diss song that pretty much lays the entire thing to rest.
The Warning
Awww…yeeeeaa. It’s awesome to hear Em back on the mic spitting hot hate-fire. It’s so refreshing to hear him not talk about addiction and getting fucked in the ear by Satan’s q-tip. And honestly, I think the boy’s still got it. Spit more fire, Mr. Mathers. Spit it ’till it hurts.
