There’s been a lot of hoo-ha recently over the US Military’s “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” Policy — for those who don’t know, is pretty much this: Gays are not allowed in the military. But no one is allowed to ask if your gay, so as long as you don’t say you are, you’re good. If you’re openly gay, you’re out. (some pun intended).

It’s a pretty messed up system, hence the ensuing battles going on. But what I didn’t know is how long this policy has been in place for — thousands and thousands of years. It actually all started back around 300
