Look, 50 Cent is about as hard right now as a Twinkie that’s been left in the sun. I mean, I seriously bought into the gun-crazed killer schtick with his debut Get Rich or Die Tryin back in 2003 (fucking awesome album, by the way). I mean, the dude supposedly got shot in the face 7 times. 7 times! That’s about as gangster as it gets.
But after a videogame, countless crappy singles, and a bank account as clean as a bidet, it’s kinda gotten hard to take Curtis seriously. But again, that’s a YP, not a MP. (Your problem, not my problem).
And in his new album, Before I Self Destruct, he buckles down and jostles again for that position of hardest jigga out there. And honestly, it’s not all that bad. I might not totally buy into the killer persona any more, but I still got my glock wet with this jam…
